Born and raised in Lier, Belgium, a city historically celebrated for its exquisite lace and pearl artistry, Stefaan grew up immersed in a world of creativity. From a very young age, he was inspired by his artistic family, particularly his mother, an authority in the delicate arts of lace-making and pearlwork. Under her guidance, Stefaan explored various artistic disciplines, including glass engraving, silk painting, drawing, and embroidery, even crafting his own intricate pieces using pearls. This rich heritage continues to influence his work today, infusing each ceramic piece with a sense of tradition and personal history.
